Pantochino Productions Inc, Connecticut's theatre company, will bring its newest musical, "The Brothers Grimm and a Showgirl" to The Palace Theatre in Danbury on Saturday, March 31st for two performances at 2pm and 7pm.
"The Brothers Grimm and a Showgirl," which recently debuted at The Off-Broadway Theatre at Yale in New Haven features book and lyrics by Bert Bernardi and music by Justin Rugg. The show is described as a super fun, wildly imaginative family musical featuring spoofs and goofs of favorite fairy tales such as Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and much, much more. In the play, The Brothers Grimm themselves arrive to perform their best-loved stories and are joined by a sequined and feathered Showgirl who helps tell the tales in her own special way. "It's a great musical for all ages" said Bernardi. "Young audiences are going to love this one, and grown-ups will enjoy it just as much" he added.
The Danbury engagement marks the first time a Pantochino production will play in Fairfield County. Founders Bert Bernardi and Jimmy Johansmeyer, who also appear in the show, are looking to expand its New Haven based audience. "You'll be seeing more of us in Fairfield County in the coming months." said Bernardi. Mr. Rugg also appears in the show along with Shelley Marsh Poggio who plays the showgirl.
Performances of "The Brothers Grimm and a Showgirl" at The Palace in Danbury are Satuday March 31st at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets and more information about the show and the company are available at www.pantochino.com.
