Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc, a professional non profit theatre company for family audiences, will present it's new holiday musical, "The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show" which opens December 7th at the Center for the Arts on Railroad Avenue in Milford.

"The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show" is a joyous and heartwarming story set in a studio during the golden age of radio, where the story of a whimsical bear and his journey with two children in search of the star for their Christmas tree is being broadcast on the air. While the Cinnamon Bear and his friends encounter magical characters along their journey, the actors in the radio studio perform old-fashioned commercials and provide live sound effects and lots of fun. Meanwhile, the new radio station manager Mister Coot threatens to pull the plug on the proceedings. A surprising turn of events changes his mind and heart in this new holiday musical.

"The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show" features book and lyrics by Bert Bernardi and music by Justin Rugg. The team has written seven original musicals for Pantochino Productions including the 2011 Broadway World Award-winning musical, "Teen Santa!" for Best New Work in Connecticut.

"It's always fun to discover a new holiday story, and Cinnamon Bear hits all the right notes" said Bernardi. "It's filled with wonderful characters, wit, fun, emotion, and has a great message for the holiday season" he added. Co-producer Jimmy Johansmeyer said "It's a look back to a simpler time. Audiences of all ages will get a glimpse of a vintage radio broadcast, and the kids are going to fall in love with Cinnamon Bear himself!" The new musical has been inspired by an actual radio broadcast in 1937.

"The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show" includes a cast of twenty-one actors including several local children in feature roles. The production team includes Von Del Mar (set design), Jeff Carr (lighting), Nathaniel Dobas (sound), and costumes by Johansmeyer. Rugg is musical director with Bernardi directing and staging.

The Great Cinnamon Bear Christmas Radio Show" plays December 7 - 29 with performances Saturdays at 2 & 5:30pm and Sundays at 2pm, and a special performance on Friday, December 20 at 7:30pm. The Center for the Arts is located at 40 Railroad Avenue in Downtown Milford. Tickets are $17. and available at www.pantochino.com.
