Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc. led by co-producers Bert Bernardi and Jimmy Johansmeyer will open the online box office Tuesday, September 1st for its 2015/16 season which includes three original musicals for family audiences.
Opening the season is "Dractastic!," a family friendly rock musical version of the Dracula. In this new spin on the classic story, Dracula is a rock star in a story filled with thrills, chills, belly laughs and the kind of fun audiences will find only at Pantochino. "This one is all laughs, for all ages," chortled Bernardi, who has written the book and lyrics with an original score by Pantochino's composer Justin Rugg. The show plays October 23 through November 1.
For the holidays, the high spirited company offers "Christmas Cookies!," a new musical about a troubled bakery saved by a trio of tasty singing cookie treats who come to life, and Santa Claus himself! "Our holiday show is the centerpiece of our season and we are very excited to bring this magical show, and these cookies, to life," confided Johansmeyer. "Christmas Cookies!" plays December 11 through 27.
The third original musical from the pen of Bernardi and Rugg is "Fast Times at Mermaid High," a splashy 'new wave' look at the saga of The Little Mermaid through the eyes of the 1980's which promises totally tubular fantabulous fun!
All three musicals will be performed at Downtown Milford's Center for the Arts.
New this year are "Party" performances. "At certain performances, the Center for the Arts will be set up with tables and chairs. Our audiences are invited to bring their own food and drink to enjoy during the show," said Bernardi. "It's a perfect set-up for birthdays, holiday parties and other celebrations."
