Cinematic Titanic, featuring the original creators of Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (MST3K) live on stage, continues the tradition of riffing "the unfathomable," "the horribly great" and the just plain "cheesy" movies from the past.
The Belding Theater at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts will host Cinematic Titanic on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Cinematic Titanic is sponsored by United Technologies Corporation.
Tickets for Cinematic Titanic are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting The Bushnell Box Office at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford or by calling (860) 987-5900. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.bushnell.org. Tickets are $35.00. Ticket prices do not include all applicable fees.
Cinematic Titanic is a feature-length movie-riffing show from Joel Hodgson, the creator of Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Cinematic Titanic features the original cast that first brought the Peabody Awardwinning cult-classic series to life: Trace Beaulieu (Crow, Dr. Forrester), J. Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo, Dr. Erhardt), Frank Conniff (TV's Frank), and Maru Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester). The clever and inventive live commentary of the group, also known as "riffing," occurs throughout the production.
Founded in late 2007, Cinematic Titanic is an artist-funded and artist-owned and operated venture. With 10 feature-length DVDs and an ever-growing schedule of live shows, the CT crew is reconnecting with MSTies around the world as well as bringing new fans to the comedy art form first introduced by this group 20 years ago on television.
