Opera House Players, Inc. presents the musical comedy DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS at the Broad Brook Opera House, 107 Main Street, Broad Brook, CT 06016 from February 6 through February 22 (Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm). Tickets available by calling the box office at 860-292-6068 or visiting www.operahouseplayers.org. Tickets: $21 (adults), $17 (under 12/over 60), $15 Student Rush (limited quantity may be available at every performance 10 minutes before curtain with Student ID).

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS is a musical version of the 1988 film of the same name. According to director Denise Boutin, "The play adheres very closely to the plot and structure of the movie; so much so in fact, that the filmic nature of the piece has presented numerous staging challenges. The scenes cross cut to one another rapidly and seamlessly, something much easier to achieve in a movie than in a play. The plot is a familiar one, two con men competing for the girl. The humor ranges from naughty to witty and farcical. The music is catchy and hummable, unique in an age when so many musicals require a great deal of listening to recall the tunes accurately. It is truly an old fashioned musical comedy."

Boutin, making her OHP directing debut, comments,"The characters are engaging and funny, the music is hummable, the lyrics are amazing and the choreography and spectacle should make you want to join the party" at DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS. Music Director Paul Feyer and Choreographer Amy Bouchard complete the artistic team.

Upcoming events at the Broad Brook Opera House include Beatles cover band NUMBER NINE (February 28), and Monty Python's SPAMALOT (May 1-17). Gift certificates are available by calling the box office.
