The Northeast Children’s Theatre Company (NCTC), a brand-new organization providing professional theatre programming for young audiences and families in Connecticut, will present the world premiere production of a new musical, “The Tortoise And The Hare.” The contemporary family-friendly musical, featuring a book by Caitlin Lowans and Andrew Barbato, and music by Lesley DeSantis and Andrew Barbato, is a fresh take on Aesop’s classic story.

At Creekwood Elementary, the day of the big race is approaching. Harvey Hare has always ruled the roost, but this year there is a new competitor: Tommy Tortoise. Follow Harvey, Tommy, and Cindy Snail on their race as they discover the true meaning of friendship and teamwork. “The Tortoise And The Hare” is packed with plenty of comedy and adventure for the kids and parents to enjoy together.

NCTC, founded in 2010 by Morgan Weitz and Tyler Paul, is a not-for-profit dedicated to positively impacting the youth of the Northeast at home and in the classroom through artistic and educational outreach. The world premiere production will be the company’s first local presentation. “We are happy to be kicking off with such an exciting, vibrant show,” says Tyler Paul, Executive Director and Co-Founder of NCTC. “It’s especially thrilling that we can expose the community to the Childrens Theatre genre – one of the most popular forms of live entertainment for families.”

“The Tortoise And The Hare” will premiere as a limited engagement on Friday, March 2 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, March 3 at 11 AM and 2 PM at The Kweskin Theatre on Sterling Farms in Stamford, CT. This production is recommended for Ages 6+ / Grades 1+ and presented in partnership with Curtain Call. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Reservations are strongly suggested.
