Actors Nicholas Barasch, Mark Pinter and Director Jon Ciccarelli are featured on this week's (Friday, June 17) broadcast of State of the ARTS which airs LIVE every Friday from 12noon to 1pm on WPKN-FM (89.5) in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Nicholas Barasch is currently featured in Broadway's Tony-nominated revival of She Loves Me for which he was recently honored with the Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theatre for his 'Outstanding Performance' as Arpad Lazslo. The prestigious Theatre World Awards are presented annually to six actors and six actresses for their significant, reviewable, debut performances in a Broadway production.
Mark Pinter, an award-winning stage, screen and television actor is scheduled to appear in San Diego's Old Globe Theatre production of Shakespeare's Macbeth June 19 thru July 24 followed by the world premiere of Manifest Destinitis, an early California adaptation of Moliere's The Imaginary Invalid from September 15 thru October 9 at San Diego Rep. His most recent New York appearance was in the recent revival of Rothchild & Sons at The York Theatre Company.
Jon Ciccarelli, Artistic Director of the Hudson Shakespeare Company, is celebrating 25 seasons of touring Shakespeare plays throughout the northeast. This summer's tour features performances of Richard II, Edward III and Henry IV, Parts 1 & 2 in the outdoor amphitheatre of Stratford, Connecticut's Library on Saturdays, June 25, July 30 and August 27, respectively. In the event of inclement weather, the plays will be presented inside in the Library's air-conditioned Lovell Room.
