Newington is just about 118 miles from Times Square, the heart of Broadway! So, please join us on Saturday, March 12th, for "118 Miles Off Broadway" - an evening of classic showtunes, food & wine, raffle prizes and the area's best "grown-up" talent - all to benefit the Newington Children's Theatre Company, a non-profit organization. Featuring some of CT's best-known adult performers (and a few kids, too!), this fantastic event will be hosted by TV & Radio personality Jim Masters, of CPTV and WELI. We are also proud to announce our very special guests: Carolyn Kirsch, original cast member of Broadway's "A Chorus Line," and Michael Buckley, of "What the Buck?" and "Buck Hollywood."
The cast includes some of Connecticut's most versatile and celebrated performers: Kelly Boucher, Sarah Gilbert, Ian Galligan, Stephanie Layne, Cindy Lesser, Jamie Murphy, Christa Pizzoferrato, Dan Ringette, Randy Ronco, Paul Tine & Shannon Toohey.
NCTC Performing Arts Theatre provides quality entertainment and hands-on educational programs in the performing arts to children and young adults from preschool through college. Home to Newington Children's Theatre Company, NCTC is Connecticut's oldest operating children's theatre.
In addition to its educational programs for kids, NCTC is proud to announce it's newest endeavor - Newington Mainstage, a "grown-up" season, featuring adult performers and shows geared towards entreating the community's "big kids". The inaugural production for Newington Mainstage will be held in June - and the title will be announced at our March 12th benefit. This Tony-nominated musical received rave reviews in New York, and we are proud to be the first to produce this landmark show in the CT area.
"118 Miles Off Broadway" will be held Saturday March 12th, 2011, at the NCTC Performing Arts Theatre. Reception will begin at 7:00pm, with the performance at 8:00pm. Tickets are $25 each, and can be purchased by mailing a check, made payable to NCTC, to: NCTC Performing Arts Theatre, 743 North Mountain Road, Newington, CT 06111, or by calling (860) 666-NCTC (6282).
