On Wednesday, March 30, 59 BANK Restaurant in New Milford will host its third "Pass the Hat" night to benefit TheatreWorks New Milford. The event grew out of the popular Open Mic nights at the restaurant, where local musicians get together and perform in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Last spring, Open Mic host and singer/songwriter Chris Ellis, with Bob Brophy, of the Blue Yodels, started "Pass the Hat Music," evenings wherein local performers volunteer their time and musical talents to benefit local non-profit organizations. Other fundraisers have raised over $1,000 for The Village Center for the Arts, and The Village Center Organization.

Musicians tentatively scheduled to perform include: Don Lowe & the Lowedowns, Al Burgasser & Bill Petkanas (of Cripple Creek), Missy Alexander, Mark Miller (of the Rust Farmers), John Bolster, Robin Frome and Deerfly, the Blue Yodels and Chris Ellis.

There is no admission or cover charge. The fundraising is accomplished through the sale of raffle tickets for a 50/50 drawing as well as a variety of auction prizes provided by local merchants. The festivities get underway at 7:30PM and last until 10:30PM.

If you wish to donate items for the auction, please contact Bob Brophy at (646) 354-0041, or email blueyodels@aol.com.

TheatreWorks is an award-winning non-Equity theatre company located on 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford, CT.
