America's Oldest Continuing Summer Chamber Music Festival, Music Mountain has released its end-of-season statistics and is happy to report a 7% attendance increase for its acclaimed string quartet concerts up from the previous year. The 83rd season saw the fourth consecutive year of increased attendance to its nationally recognized schedule featuring 16 world class chamber concerts. From 2009, Music Mountain's attendance has increased 14.6% and revenue has increased 25%.
"We are thrilled with the year-end numbers" stated Music Mountain's board president Nicholas Gordon. "But a special side-bar to this announcement is the success of our young people's free admission policy. Inspection of the audience tells us the larger number of 30-50 year olds in the audience are there as a direct result of permitting them to bring their kids at no charge, thereby making it possible for a family of four to attend a beautiful concert by buying only 2 tickets," he continued.
Located in Falls Village, Connecticut, Music Mountain is located on Music Mountain Road, where it plays 12 weekends of summer concerts. The 2013 summer season will be announced later this fall. For more information visit www.musicmountain.org or call 860-824-7126.
