Little Theatre of Manchester is thrilled to present its second show of the 2016 season, COMPANY.
Hilarious, resonating and thoroughly enjoyable, the Tony-winning musical comedy COMPANY, book by George Furth and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, debuted in 1970. Featuring some of Sondheim's best-known songs, including "The Ladies Who Lunch" and the life-affirming "Being Alive," the original Broadway production was nominated for a then record-setting fourteen Tony Awards and won six, and won a 1971 Grammy for Best Score from an Original Cast Show Album.
Sondheim's game-changing musical is one of the first to explore a sophisticated and honest look at modern, adult relationships. Set in a swinging New York City, COMPANY follows perennial bachelor Bobby on the occasion of his 35th birthday as his five married couple friends gather to celebrate and offer varying degrees of relationship advice. Experiencing the many ups and downs of relationships vicariously through his friends, Bobby has to consider one of life's greatest questions: "What's it really all about?"
The show opens on April 8, 2016, at 8:00 pm. Opening night will feature a dinner and show package starting at 6:00 pm. This will include a special buffet and VIP ticket for $44 per attendee. The catered meal will be served from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
