LaKisha Jones Celebrates the Great Ladies of Song in TO WHITNEY WITH LOVE Image

When she rose to fame on Season 6 of "American Idol," LaKisha Jones, who bears a vocal and physical resemblance to Aretha Franklin, blew away judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson with Aretha's "Think" and "Until You Come Back to Me." Ms. Jones is ready to reclaim center stage with an unbelievable evening celebrating the great ladies of song: Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Tina Turner and the one and only Whitney Houston when she belts out the hits in To Whitney, With Love Saturday, April 7th at 8pm at The Ridgefield Playhouse, part of Northeast Builders of Ridgefield Emerging Artist Series and Pepsi Rock Series Powered by Xfinity. From sound stages or concert halls across the country and around the world, LaKisha Jones has got them swaying in the aisles with show-stoppers like "I Will Always Love You" "The Greatest Love of All," "You Give Good Love" and more! Don't miss your chance to see this remarkable talent! Make it a great night out: visit Bareburger (38 Danbury Rd ~ Ridgefield) for dinner the night of the show and enjoy a complimentary glass of house wine or draft beer with your entrée when you show your ticket! Media Partner for this performance is WEBE108 FM, Connecticut's Best Music Variety.

LaKisha Jones was a single mother and bank employee originally from Flint, Michigan who always dreamed of making it big in the music business, when auditioned for Season 6 of "American Idol." Her last album, So Glad I'm Me was full of her expressive, full-bodied and arresting vocals, the same voice that electrified "American Idol" viewers and later the Broadway stage in the Oprah Winfrey produced, Tony Award-winning musical, The Color Purple. Following her Broadway stint, Jones provided vocal coaching on MTV's reality competition "Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods," a show designed to find and hone Broadway's next star. A frequent soloist with symphonies around the world, Ms. Jones has traveled the globe performing as a guest soloist with the National Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Utah Symphony and Opera, Winnipeg Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, Jacksonville Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Colorado Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, Reno Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony, and many more!
