TriArts Sharon Playhouse, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Simpkins, has announced the hiring of Justin Ball as Managing Director. He will join The Playhouse in February 2014.

Justin has worked as a producer, director, and arts educator in New York City for over ten years. Most recently, he served as the producer and administrator for the Meisner Studio at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Justin has worked for both Manhattan Theater Club and Playwrights Horizons where he produced major fundraising events including Manhattan Theater Club's Spring Gala, the single largest theatrical fundraiser for the American stage. As Producing Artistic Director for the Grid Theater Company, he produced and directed world premieres of THINGS BEYOND OUR CONTROL by Jesse Kellerman, DOGS by Norman Lasca and a reinterpretation of Sam Shepard and Joseph Chaikin's SAVAGE/LOVE, a devised theater/dance piece at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Justin Holds an MFA in Directing from Brooklyn College and a B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He continues to serve as an adjunct faculty member at Playwrights Horizons Theater School at NYU where he teaches producing and theater management.

"We felt Justin would be the perfect match for the Sharon Playhouse and our future plans," says Artistic Director John Simpkins. "We were impressed with his energy, enthusiasm, and ideas for continued growth. I'm looking forward to introducing him to our community in CT and around the theatrical community."

Sharon Playhouse has also recently hired its first ever Director of Youth Theatre and Education. Roxy Schoenfeld - a New York City based teaching artist and coach - will join the staff for the Summer Season. She is on faculty with "Stages on the Sound," an in-school theatre education program focused on 4th-8th graders. She also teaches with SparKidz, a program for kids with special needs. She has been the Theatre Department Head at Camp Robindel in New Hampshire.

Celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2014, the Sharon Playhouse will present a full season of musicals in its mainstage theatre - as well as a play, new musical, and summer youth workshops in its intimate Stage 2 space. More information can be found by visiting www.triarts.net.
