New England based JAC Publishing's play library has acquired new collections from playwrights Julie Greene and Kevin T. Baldwin, the company has announced.

Though Greene's works are familiar to those at Sacramento's Thistle Dew Theatre, they are new to JAC. This collection of three short plays is called "Going Somewhere?" Says Greene, "There are two ways to view human nature: all are good, and bad people are the exception; or all are bad, and good people are the exception. We sometimes trust people simply because we know them, or because their position implies they can be trusted. Once, a stranger provided what I needed in an emergency - something the people I trusted did not provide. This challenged my assumptions about who we can, and do, trust. Your task? Which view of human nature is true for you, and which is the exception?"

The collection will feature: Flying to Santa Barbara - Four strangers are thrown together "like 'Lifeboat' without the cannibalism" and band together (perhaps) to reach their common destination; Higher Learning - Professor K is a respected educator in "Higher Learning" - but will he abuse his position of trust?; and Subway - Tiffany must choose the least dangerous of two tense situations.

This title is also available via Amazon.com (ISBN #1-60513-0067-2; JAC #2010-0008.)

Kevin T. Baldwin also has a new full-length play available, great for youth performers - Mystery of the White Spider. A story about a natural sciences professor specializing in arachnology at Millborough University who suddenly dies. Although the cause of death is a bite from a highly toxic spider, one student is held as a possible murder suspect. His fellow classmates decide to conduct their own investigation, discovering that the professor has bred a new spider, all white, with the most potent and dangerous venom in the world. Was the professor killed by his work... or for it?

This title is also available via Amazon.com. (ISBN #1-60513-069-9; JAC #2010-0010.)
