The Hartt School announces its 2011-2012 Dance Division season performance schedule. Admission to each performance is $20 with discounts for seniors, students, and groups. The fall Senior Dance Concert, featuring graduating seniors who will present their own choreographic works plus solos set on them by professional choreographers from around the nation, takes place Friday, October 28, at 7:30 PM, and Saturday, October 29, at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Performances are in The Edward C. and Ann
T. Roberts Foundation Theater at the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford.
Hartt's fall main stage concert, Hartt Dances, features works by legendary choreographers such as Jose Limón (re-staged by
Nina Watt),
Martha Graham (re-staged by
Peggy Lyman-Hayes), and
George Balanchine, as well as world premieres by Katie Stevinson-Nollet and Stephen Pier. Performances are Friday, November 18, and Saturday, November 19, at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, November 20, at 3:00 PM. Performances are held in Lincoln Theater, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford.
