Based on the book by Johanna Hurwitz and commissioned for the stage by Hartford Children's Theatre, CLASS CLOWN runs March 11 through March 20, 2011 at HCT's Carriage House Theatre.

Lucas Cott is the most rambunctious pupil in Mrs. Hockaday's fourth grade class. He flings pencils and cracks jokes when things seem a bit dull and he always forgets to raise his hand. When his teacher sends home a note, Lucas vows to behave even though it doesn't sound like much fun. Try as he might, most of Lucas' good intentions quickly go awry. When assigned the seemingly fitting role of a clown in their classroom circus, Lucas knows he would make a better ringmaster. Can he convince his teacher or will he always be the "class clown?" Adapted for the stage from her celebrated 1992 Scholastic book of the same name, Johanna Hurtwitz's CLASS CLOWN is a warm and funny story about a boy who learns that there's a time and place for everything - even humor.

Ticket Prices are $18 for Adults, $13 for Seniors & Students 17 and under, and $10 for all currently enrolled HCT students or HCT teachers. Please note: A processing fee of $2 per ticket will be added to all web orders.
