Goodspeed Musicals is pleased to announce its partnership with Lady Katharine Cruises to create a special two hour dinner cruise and theatre ticket package which promises an unforgettable experience for visitors from far and near. A cruise on the Lady Katharine is the ultimate way to see the Connecticut River and a musical at the two time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Opera House is the perfect finale to any day. The elegant Lady Kate can host up to 200 people for a scenic cruise and award winning buffet dinner. Some of the delectable menu offerings may include the Lady Katharine Signature Salad and choice of entrée and a side, including Pork Loin with Port Sauce, Beef Tips, Breast of Chicken Marsala, Baked Filet of Sole or Salmon, or Chef's Pasta Choice. The finale to this fine dining experience will be a wonderful dessert special of the day.

After dinner, guests disembark at the Goodspeed dock for the evening's performance of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Screamingly funny! Downright hilarious! Comedy reigns when a thoroughly disarming slave named Pseudolus schemes to gain his freedom by helping his master's son get the girl he desires. It's an accelerating whirl of mixed identities, swinging doors, double takes, double entendres, outrageous puns and gags that will keep you laughing all the way home. Winner of tons of Tony Awards including Best Musical. An excellent way to round out a wonderful day on the river, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is sure to delight.

On Sunday, October 18, the collaborative will offer a 4 pm cruise and tickets to the 6:30 pm performance of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum. The second package will be offered for Friday, October 30, with a 5:30 pm cruise and tickets to the 8 pm performance. Make it a Goodspeed day with this new package at only $99 per person. Tickets for dinner cruise and show are now on sale at the Goodspeed Box Office.

Patrons will be able to park at the Goodspeed lot and board the boat from the Goodspeed dock. It is recommended that they arrive ½ prior to cruise departure time. The two hour cruise will head up and down the Connecticut River. A buffet dinner will be served and the boat will return to the Goodspeed dock in time for the performance. There is a cash bar on the boat. Dress on the boat is the same as for the theatre.

This partnership is one of several new alliances between Goodspeed and local attractions making a cooperative effort to enhance visitors' experience and highlight the swing bridge towns of East Haddam and Haddam as a not-to-be-missed destination.

Dedicated to the preservation and advancement of musical theatre, Goodspeed Musicals produces three musicals each season at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn., and additional productions at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn., which was opened in 1984 for the development of new musicals. The only regional theatre to receive two Tony Awards (for outstanding achievement), Goodspeed also maintains The Scherer Library of Musical Theatre and The Max Showalter Center for Education in the Musical Theater. Goodspeed gratefully acknowledges the support of the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.
