Goodspeed to Hold Local Auditions for 2016 Season, Featuring 'CHASING RAINBOWS' and More

Goodspeed Musicals is holding local Equity auditions for its 2016 season, on Sunday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in East Haddam, Conn. Goodspeed is seeking adult Equity male and female actors. In addition, Goodspeed seeks both Equity and non-Equity boys ages 10-13 for BYE BYE BIRDIE.

All auditions are by appointment only. Appointments may be made starting immediately. Please call Company Management at (860) 873-8664, ext. 384, Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am - 5 p.m.

Goodspeed Musicals 2016 season includes ANYTHING GOES (3/7-6/16), BYE BYE BIRDIE (5/23-9/8) and CHASING RAINBOWS: THE ROAD TO OZ (8/15-12/4) at The Goodspeed and THE ROAR OF THE GREASEPAINT - THE SMELL OF THE CROWD (4/18-6/26) and A SIGN OF THE TIMES (6/27-9/4) at The Terris Theatre. Candidates must be available for four weeks of rehearsal and a 4 to 14-week performance run.

Interested performers should bring a resume, photo and sheet music and be prepared to sing two short numbers: an up-tempo song and a ballad. Music must be legible and in the proper key (No lead sheets please). An accompanist will be provided.

Performers of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to audition.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Michael Gennaro, Goodspeed Musicals is dedicated to the preservation, development and advancement of musical theatre and is the first theatre in the nation to receive two Tony Awards (for outstanding achievement). Goodspeed produces three musicals each season at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn., and additional productions at The Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn., which was opened in 1984 for the development of new musicals. Goodspeed also maintains The Scherer Library of Musical Theatre and The Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre.
