Downtown Cabaret To Hold Open Call for Five New Musicals 8/29, 8/31

The Downtown Cabaret Children's Company is casting new faces for its 2009/10 season of new musicals! We're looking for super sassy young women to play Little Red Running Shoes and Cinderella, charismatic young men to play Prince Spaghetti, handsome Knights and various Teen-age Monsters! We are also in search of comic adult actors and actresses to play the Kings, Queens, Evil Stepsisters, Wicked Witches any many other character roles! And we need Teen actors (guys and gals) to play Teen Monsters, Villagers, Gangsters many, many ensemble roles!

The open call for all roles will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 11am 2pm and again on Monday, August 31st, 7-9pm. The audition will be held at the theatre on Golden Hill Street in Bridgeport.

Artistic Director Bert Bernardi is seeking the following for roles in HALLOWEEN HIGH SCHOOL 2, THE KNIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HANSEL AND GRETEL, LITTLE RED RUNNING SHOES and CINDERELLA:

- Adult Lead Male and Female actors (ages 18 - 45) who sing, move and have great comic timing.

- Adult Character Male and Female actors (ages 18 - 45) who sing, move and have great comic timing.

- *Teen Male and Female actors (ages 12 -17) who sing, move and act.

Please note! There are no roles for small children this season. Adult performers are paid rehearsal stipend and per performance fee. Teen actors are paid a stipend and gain valuable experience working in a professional environment along side seasoned professional actors.

Sign in at 10am on Saturday August 29th or 6pm on Monday August 31st
-Prepare 16 bars uptempo and ballad.
-Bring Sheet Music (accompanist provided)
-Bring head shot (or recent snapshot) and resume.
-Those auditioning may be asked to read from one of the scripts.
-Those auditioning maybe asked to learn a brief dance routine.
Please note: There are no roles for small children this season.

If for any reason you cannot attend the open audition, simply mail photo, resume and letter. Mention in the letter that you are unable to attend the audition! If additional auditions are needed, you may be called.
