Long Wharf Theatre, under the direction of Gordon Edelstein (Artistic Director) and Ray Cullom (Managing Director), announces that Entertainment Events' production of Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold, by Maripat Donovan with Jane Morris and Marc Silvia, will return to Long Wharf Theatre on Stage II from December 1 through December 20, 2009.
Debra Toscano, originally seen in Girls Night: The Musical, will play Sister. "We are thrilled to welcome our favorite nun back to Long Wharf Theatre for this holiday treat," said Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein.
In this holiday mystery extravaganza, by the author of Late Nite Catechism, Sister takes on the mystery that has intrigued historians throughout the ages - whatever happened to the Magi's gold? Employing her own scientific tools and assisted by local choirs as well as a gaggle of audience members, Sister creates a living nativity unlike any ever seen. With gifts galore and bundles of laughs, Sister's Christmas Catechism is sure to become a new holiday tradition.
Tickets to Sister's Christmas Catechism are $28. Performances take place on Tuesdays at 7 p.m., Wednesdays at 2 and 7 p.m., Thursdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. from Dec. 1-20. For more information, or to buy tickets, visit www.longwharf.org or call 203-787-4282.
In addition, Long Wharf Theatre is looking for choirs of four people to sing at the top of show, and again in the second act. Choirs would need to be at the theatre 90 minutes prior to curtain time n order to rehearse prior to the performance. Choirs will sing specific songs selected for the production and may also sing three Christmas songs and/or carols of their own choosing.
