Hailed as "one of the best voices on Broadway" by the Associated Press, "a dynamic Broadway belter," by the New York Daily News and "a magnetic stage presence," by Variety, Gravitte brings a Broadway-caliber vocal performance to her hometown with this spectacular show! Make a night of it and visit Bernard's (20 West Lane in Ridgefield) on the day of the show for a great prix fixe menu when you present your tickets for this performance. Reservations are suggested. Media sponsor for the show is WMNR, Fine Arts Radio.
Big Band Broadway is Gravitte's first self-produced album, allowing her the freedom to create a sound and style completely on her own terms. It also gave the Connecticut resident the opportunity to choose her favorite Broadway songs, the ones that make her the most happy. Celebrate that joy with Gravitte as you tap your toes and sing along to Broadway favorites in this engaging live performance.
Debbie Gravitte began her career on Broadway in the original cast of They're Playing Our Song, and went on to appear in Perfectly Frank (Drama Desk Award nomination), Blues In The Night, Ain't Broadway Grand, Zorba, Chicago, and Les Miserables. She has also appeared in the Encores! series productions of The Boys From Syracuse, Tenderloin, and Carnival at New York's City Center, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Love Life at the Walnut St. Theatre and the West Coast Premiere of The Goodbye Girl. She has performed her nightclub act at New York's Rainbow and Stars, 54 Below and Birdland as well as London's Pizza On The Park, and in Atlantic City where she has performed with Jay Leno, Harry Anderson, and the legendary George Burns.
