Judy Garland. Frank Sinatra. Fred Astaire. Ginger Rogers. These are just a few of the stars of the silver screen that Christine Pedi and Johnny Rodgers will be bringing to life in their performance "Heartthrobs & Bombshells" on Friday, October 18th at 8 p.m. at Stamford's Palace Theatre. The performance is the second in the Courtyard by Marriott Stamford Broadway/Cabaret/Jazz Series "Perfect Pairs at The Palace." The series is also sponsored by Norman Drubner. Tickets are available at www.SCAlive.org.

During "Heartthrobs & Bombshells," Ms. Pedi and Mr. Rodgers celebrate the sass and sex appeal of the silver screen's greatest musical dreamboats and sirens. They honor the hunky heartthrobs and bodacious bombshells that made generations swing and swoon.

Ms. Pedi, known as the "lady of 1000 voices," has performed on stages all over the world including on Broadway, Off Broadway, London's West End, Japan, and Los Angeles. She can be seen using quite a few of her voice in the hilarious Off Broadway revue "NEWSical the Musical," and she received a Drama Desk Award nomination and LA Ovation and NAACP Awards for her performance in "Forbidden Hollywood," in which she played everyone from Liza Minnelli and Rosie Perez to Dame Judi Dench and Sharon Stone.

Johnny Rodgers is an internationally-celebrated singer-songwriter, pianist, Broadway star, and recording artist who is described by Stephen Holden from the New York Times as an entertainer "that can't be found anywhere else" with "fused elements of Billy Joel, Peter Allen and Johnny Mercer." He has performed such legendary venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel, Feinstein's at Loews Regency, Birdland and other premiere New York City clubs, and Liza Minnelli recognized Johnny's talent taking him on her world tour and then as featured singer, dancer, pianist, and songwriter in the Tony Award-winning "Liza's At The Palace," which now appears on PBS television..

The series, which will be hosted by Darien resident and Palace Theatre Board Member Lynn DiMenna, continues on November 13th with Hilary Kole & Freddy Cole and finishes out in 2014 with cabaret legend Marilyn Maye and jazz saxophonist Houston Person on January 22nd.
