Center Stage Theatre is seeking three men, ages 25 to 55, and five women, ages 25 to 75, for the Tony Award-nominated romantic comedy ENCHANTED APRIL by Matthew Barber from the novel by Elizabeth von Arnim.

Set in 1922, ENCHANTED APRIL delightfully brings together four uniquely different women escaping harsh, rainy, war-scarred London to the warm sun and blooming wisteria of the Italian countryside. Leaving husbands and societal obligations behind, the desperate Hampstead housewives Lotty and Rose, severe Mrs. Graves, and seductive Lady Caroline, along with some unexpected guests, learn to appreciate each other while rediscovering how to laugh and love under the Italian sun.
Auditions will be held Sunday, January 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be callbacks, if necessary, on Tuesday, January 24, at 7:00 p.m. All auditions will take place at Center Stage Theatre, 54 Grove Street, Shelton, CT.

For more information on auditions, visit the Theatre website, www.CenterStageShelton.com, e-mail centerstageshelton@sbcglobal.net or call 203-225-6079.

ENCHANTED APRIL is under the direction of Jim Lones of Oxford.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. No appointments are necessary. All roles are available and both professionals and amateurs are welcome. English accents are a must, and one female character must have a convincing Italian accent.

Rehearsals begin at the end of January with performances running from March 23 to April 14 on Fridays and Saturdays, with Sunday matinees on March 25 and April 1.

Center Stage (www.CenterStageShelton.com), located in Shelton, Connecticut, is a non-profit regional, community theatre founded in 2005 by Directors Gary and Francesca Scarpa. The theatre produces six full-scale productions per year and is a leader in theatre education for children.
