The Castle Craig Players will present AVENUE Q, the smash-hit Broadway musical about real life in New York City, as told by a cast of people and puppets through a hilariously irreverent, Tony-winning book and score, for six performances only - today, July 26-August 4!

AVENUE Q can be described simply as a madcap mix of Sesame Street and South Park. Here we meet Princeton (played by Ian Galligan), a bright-eyed college grad who moves to NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. The only apartment he can afford is way out on Avenue Q, where everyone's looking for the same things he is: a decent job, a stable relationship, and a "purpose." Eventually, Princeton learns to embrace the ups and downs of city life and realizes that "the real world" isn't so bad, after all! The New York Times hailed AVENUE Q as "a breakthrough musical of a very different stripe. Savvy, sassy and delicious!" and Entertainment Weekly claimed it was "one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see!" The cast also features Jenny Del Sole, Wesley Tack, Nick Alden, Emma Czaplinski, Jorge Melendez, Arthur Canova, Zach Martowski and Meg Ryan.

Featuring music and lyrics by Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon), the show is directed by Melanie Del Sole & Mark Laucella, with Music Direction by Andrew Gadwah, and features puppets by Joel Gennari, based upon Rick Lyon's original Broadway design!

AVENUE Q will be presented for six performances only - today, July 26-August 4 (Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm) at The Almira F. Stephan Memorial Playhouse, 59 West Main Street, Meriden, CT. Tickets are $20, and seating is extremely limited, so reservations are required. Call 203-634-6922 or visit www.CastleCraig.org to reserve online.

While AVENUE Q does employ puppets, due to adult language and content, it is not suitable for children. AVENUE Q has not been authorized or approved by The Jim Henson Company or Sesame Workshop, which have no responsibility for its content.
