Bijou Theatre's YOUR TIME TO SHINE Competition Returns for Second Month Tonight

After a successful first competition, The Bijou Theatre's "Your Time to Shine" talent competition is returning for a second month tonight, September 13, 2014 at 7:00pm, and the contestants have been selected. The talent is exceptional.

They are as follows:

In the Youth Division: Jenny Chirico, Stephanie Dezelin, Mariah Lytte, Aalicia Green, Makayla Beach

In the Adult Division: R. Patryce Bryant, Amy Strachan, Jessica Braun, Jessy Dorsett, Ian Biggs, Michael Gurge, Nick Vig

This Month's Judges: Vic Steffens, Tim Walsh, Rudeyna, Orrin Bolton and others to be announced.

Guest Starring: with a preview of the upcoming Murder Ballad at The Bijou, Christian Cardozo, Everton Ricketts, Arielle Boutin, and Maggie Pangrazio

"Your Time to Shine" is an exciting variety show featuring talented youth and aspiring professional singers, musicians, and dancers competing for prizes. With a cast of mentors and experienced professionals who have worked with/performed with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Jon Bon Jovi to Kevin Hart and Will.i.am, contestants chosen for "Your Time to Shine" will join Hosts Comedian Capone, Master singer Joe Gray, and Musical Director Matt Oestreicher on The Bijou Theatre stage on Saturday, September 13th at 7:00pm, supported by a house band featuring: Trever Somerville, Mike Nunno, Ian McHugh and Anthony Miller.

The Bijou Theatre, one of the oldest buildings in the country used as a movie house, reopened its doors in 2011. In addition tocontinuing its historic character of showing movies, the Theatre offers a full repertoire of live music, comedy, theater and dance, which can be enjoyed in either theater seating or cabaret style. The Bijou Theatre is a multi -- functional venue with integrity and an open-minded philosophy. A symposium for film, theatre, art, comedy and music. The Bijou Performing Arts Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing visual and performing arts programs and events for the community. The Bijou Performing Arts Center offers educational programs in Dance though New England Ballet, Music & Theatre, as well as special events and live theatre performances. Private donations, grants, tuition fees & ticket sales fund the Bijou Arts Center, which is located at 275 Fairfield Avenue in Downtown Bridgeport.

THE BIJOU EXPERIENCE - The nation's oldest movie house reopened its box office in 2011 to bring performing arts back to center stage in historic Bridgeport. The Bijou Theatre, with its intimate 200-seat supper club atmosphere, curates live entertainment from all over the country and includes a sensational repertoire of music, theatre, comedy, art and film.
