The Bijou Theatre presents a Snooty Garland's Springtime Opus starring the incomparable Lady Liz! Snooty returns to the stage Saturday, March 21st at 7pm. Tickets are $20 for theatre seats and $25 for table seats.
Intoxicate thyself with soul. Dance under the waxing, crescent moon in defiant celebration of Lady Liz's return! Witness the triumphant, live RE-BIRTH of SNOOTY GARLAND!
Experience a lush, original celebration of music in glorious expressions of light, color and sound. It was once a fictitious band written into one of Liz's old screenplays. Elizabeth Dellinger (a genre-bending vocalist, songwriter, author and therapeutic musician from the New Haven CT area), realized that by simply singing her truth aloud in the wild, she had attracted her family of characters (and she would never finish that screenplay anyway)...thus, the live birth of SNOOTY GARLAND.
A Note from Lady Liz... In the past 3 months, I have survived 2 Cancer surgeries, one of which left me with bi-lateral vocal paralysis. For the first time, I have had to experience life without my voice. In addition to healing from a total thyroidectomy (botched) and then the risky removal of 28 lymph nodes from my neck, I endured the loss of the true love of my life, the deepest instrument of my creative expression, and the primal vibration in my throat which connects me to all living things. As a therapeutic musician, I was unable to teach or help others. I cancelled and postponed my life as I have known it. As a vocalist, I have been unable to perform. As a mother, I've been unable to so much as yell across the room at my kids. I have LOTS of therapy ahead, but today, I begin this new year cancer free! My voice improves by the day and I will perform again in MARCH 2015! SNOOTY LIVES. The immense support from the CT music community has carried me through each moment of this. They never let my feet touch the ground.
The Snoots and I begin rehearsals in February and we will commence with the 2015 tour as planned. Music heals. Somehow, this most challenging experience is making me a better artist, a finer human being and a higher version of myself.
