Life can be complicated if your first wife doesn't like your second wife. Life can be VERY complicated if your first wife is dead and doesn't like your second wife.

That's the hilarious predicament that unfolds in BLITHE SPIRIT, by Noël Coward, which kicks off the Castle Craig Players season, October 14-23, at the group's intimate Meriden venue.

Novelist Charles Condomine has invited the eccentric local medium, Madame Arcati, to his house as research for his next book - and in hopes of exposing her as a fake. But when her séance proves successful, his marriage is suddenly in jeopardy as he is haunted by the ghost of his demanding first wife, Elvira. While Charles aims to get rid of the ghost, she is hard at work trying to get rid of his new wife! Laughter meets the supernatural in this magical comedy of manners!

Noël Coward was one of the most popular, successful and entertaining writers in British history. Written in just five days, BLITHE SPIRIT was first produced in London in 1941 and broke the record for longest running non-musical British play. It took Broadway by storm the same year and was adapted for film in 1945, featuring Rex Harrison. Since then, it has also been adapted for television and for radio, and was recently revived on Broadway, starring Angela Lansbury.

The cast includes Ethan Werner (Charles), Adina Eliana Giannelli (Ruth), Ash Lago (Elvira), Barbara Gallow (Madame Arcati), Pat Petipas (Dr. Bradman), Cheryl Harnois (Mrs. Bradman) and Kathy Wade (Edith). The production is directed by John Kenney and Kristina Kosnoff.

BLITHE SPIRIT runs for six performances only - October 14-23 (Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm) at The Almira F. Stephan Memorial Playhouse, 59 West Main Street, Meriden, CT. Presented Cabaret Style with table seating, patrons are invited to bring their own dinner, drinks and snacks to enjoy!

All tickets are $15. Seating is extremely limited - so patrons are encouraged to buy in advance! Tickets may be purchased online atwww.CastleCraig.org or over the phone by calling toll-free 1-800-838-3006.
