Alison Arngrim (Louise Seger) is most recognized for her iconic character of Nellie Oleson on the 9 year hit series "Little House on the Prairie." When asked about the public's response to her famous alter-ego, Alison says "Someone has called me a bitch to my face every single day of my life since I was 11 years old." Her New York Times best selling memoirs, "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated," was listed as one of the best TV Books on Amazon and #2 in Kindle e.books (Nonfiction/Arts & Entertainment/Television). In her book, she discusses the difficulties of fame at an early age, being born into a family of successful entertainers and how the role of "Nellie Oleson" saved her life by helping her overcome an abusive childhood marked by physical violence and incest. Alison tours internationally with her one woman show, "Confessions of A Prairie Bitch" performing to sold out crowds from Los Angeles and San Francisco, to New York and Paris. Her extensive TV and Film credits include "Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," "I Married Wyatt Earp," "For the Love of May," "The Last Place On Earth," the French detective comedy, Jean Pierre Mocky's "Le Deal" and the critically acclaimed, hilarious Christmas comedy, "Make the Yuletide Gay." In addition, Alison has recently appeared in the all star cast of a new web series entitled "Life Interrupted" which won "Best New Web Series" and "Best Cast Ensemble" at the LA Film Festival. As an activist for the improvement of child protection laws, she has testified before the California Senate, where she helped PROTECT.org overturn the long standing "incest exception" laws that allowed thousands of convicted child rapists to go free. In light of her childhood experiences, Alison has accepted the role of activist, serving as Board Member and Spokesperson for The National Association to Protect Children (PROTECT.org). Alison recently testified before the CA State Senate in support of Senate Bill 145 by Sen. Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills), which would raise the maximum penalty for the most egregious child pornography offenders. Her compelling testimony helped to secure the votes necessary to pass the legislation.
