Over the weekend, A Christmas Story opened at The Bushnell, bringing with it hilarious musical acts and lots of holiday spirit.

The Tony Award-nominated musical is modeled after the beloved movie about Ralphie, a young boy in Indiana named who is on a mission to get what he wants for Christmas: an "Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-shot Range Model Air Rifle."

Of course, it's not as easy as it seems, placing young Ralphie in several dilemmas where adults just don't seem to get it - including with his mother, teacher, and Santa - all saying the same thing: "you'll shoot your eye out."

Throughout Ralphie's journey, we enjoy a plethora of musical numbers, including one with a leg lamp that is sure to make you chuckle out loud.

But it's not just a funny story to get you in the spirit, there is a theme of love, family, and childhood memories that stays with you long after the show ends.
