The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical A CHORUS LINE comes to the Shubert Theater in New Haven for a limited engagement, October 1-3, 2010. The four performances, Friday 8pm, Saturday 2 & 8pm and Sunday 2pm, are sponsored by Lexus of New Haven, Whitney Center and media sponsors New Haven Register, News 8 and WEBE-Radio. Tickets are now available online at shubert.com, by phone at 800-228-6622 and at the Shubert Box Office (247 College Street, New Haven).

The show's producers have selected New Haven's historic Shubert Theater as the site for the build of A CHORUS LINE'S new national tours. The theater will be utilized for approximately two weeks prior to the public performances to build sets, tech the production and rehearse the cast. Baayork Lee will direct and re-stage the choreography for this new touring production. Baayork Lee created the role of "Connie" and served as Michael Bennett's assistant choreographer in the original production of A CHORUS LINE.

The original production of A CHORUS LINE, conceived and originally choreographed and directed by Michael Bennett, book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban, had its first Broadway performance at the Shubert Theatre on July 25, 1975 (followed by its official Broadway opening night on October 19, 1975). It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Score and Book, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. It ran for nearly 15 years, closing on April 28, 1990 after 6,137 performances. A CHORUS LINE remains the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. A CHORUS LINE reclaimed its place in the heart of Broadway during its revival at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre where it ran from October 5, 2006 through August 17, 2008.

This new touring production of A CHORUS LINE features original scenic design by Robin Wagner, costume design by Theoni V. Aldredge, lighting design by Tharon Musser adapted by Natasha Katz and sound design by Shannon Slaton. Orchestrations are by Jonathan Tunick, Billy Byers and Hershy Kay and vocal arrangements are by Don Pippin. Visit the official A CHORUS LINE website at www.AChorusLine.com.
