The Little Theatre of Manchester will close its 2016 Evenings@7 Playreading Series with the winner of five TONY® Awards & the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, August: Osage County by Tracy Letts.
A staged reading of August: Osage County will be at 7:00 p.m. on November 15, 2016, in the Silk Room at Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road in Manchester. The event is free, although donations to support this type of work are gladly accepted.
Brutal and hilarious, August: Osage County features a vanished father, a pill-popping mother, and three sisters harboring shady little secrets. When the large Weston family unexpectedly reunites after Dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a maelstrom of repressed truths and unsettling secrets. With rich insight and brilliant humor, Letts paints a vivid portrait of a Midwestern American family.
Produced and directed by Little Theatre member Linda Ferreira, August: Osage County features LTM favorites Mike Zizka as Beverly Weston and Debi Freund as the drugged-up, scathingly acidic matriarch, Violet Weston. Additional cast members include Dawn Maselli, Mitch Hess, Hunter Woodruff, Trish Urso, Jill Luberto, Angela Dias, Randy Boyd, Rodney K, ElizaBeth Reynolds, Shawn Procuniar and Scott "Woody" Woodruff.
