Set in a rundown Connecticut farmhouse in the early twenties, Eugene O'Neill's American masterpiece revolves around some curious characters, each trying to fool another. Phil Hogan and his daughter Josie are trying to seduce and blackmail James Tyrone, Hogan's landlord, before Tyrone can evict him. Only Josie and James connect with one another in the moonlit night, emptying their souls in a suspenseful catharsis. Josie finds out the Tyrone wasn't about to evict her father after all, and the two would-be lovers are changed forever.
