her lover over the phone and stumbles through a minefield of emotions
towards an uncertain fate. This captivating, 40-minute monodrama is performed
in French with English surtitles.
In the powerful and gut-wrenching
Pagliacci
, Canio and Nedda are members
of a traveling troupe of players and also husband and wife, but Nedda yearns to
escape with her secret lover. In the end, Canio creates his own tragic ending. Sung
in Italian with English surtitles, this production is a collaboration with The Ohio State
University and performed with the Columbus Symphony.
Elizabeth Futral has established herself as one of the major coloratura sopranos in the
world today with her stunning vocalism and vast dramatic range. She will make her role
debut of Elle in
La voix humaine
and will also perform the role of Nedda in
Pagliacci
