ProMusica Chamber Orchestra will welcome cellist Jeffrey Zeigler and steel pannist Andy Akiho for their Dec. 14-15 concert series at the Southern Theatre, Akiho & Beethoven. 

The Irish Comedy Tour, which takes the party atmosphere of a Dublin pub and combines it with a boisterous, belly-laugh band of hooligans, will come to Columbus in March.

THE APPLE TREE will play Herbst Studio Theatre from November 15 – November 24. The show is comprised of three musical miniatures: “The Diary of Adam and Eve”, “The Lady or the Tiger?”, and “Passionella.”

HEAD OVER HEELS is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980’s all-female rock band the Go-Go’s, including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” and “Mad About You.”

​​​​​​​The Lincoln Theatre Association will present Jazz on the Mezz, an intimate evening of jazz on the theatre's Mezzanine level above the Cardinal Health Ballroom next month.

On a dark and stormy night, six strangers receive mysterious invitations to Boddy Manor. Each guest is given an alias. As they gather for dinner, they discover they’ve all fallen victim to the same blackmailer. The stakes are high: pay double the extortion money or kill the innocent butler. What follows is a madcap evening of murder, mystery, and laughs as they try to unravel the identity of the culprit among them.

This is the first time I’m able to perform music that is fully mine. I've written all the music and came up with the concept for it, and I'm really excited to share that with the Columbus community.

The Columbus Jazz Orchestra will ring in the holiday season with vocalist extraordinaire Denzal Sinclaire at Home for the Holidays. Songs for a New World is a musical by Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years) that blends elements of pop, gospel, and jazz. It is structured as a series of songs, each telling a unique story about pivotal moments in the characters’ lives. The musical explores themes of love, hope, decision-making, and the human experience. In the composer’s words: “It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back.”  

​​​​​​​When Mike Backes found out he was cast as Tommy DeVito in Short North Stage’s upcoming production of JERSEY BOYS, one of the first people he called was someone he had never met before: Adam Marino who will be playing Frankie Valli in the show.

Set in Damon Runyon's New York City, Guys and Dolls JR. follows gambler, Nathan Detroit; his girlfriend, Adelaide; fellow gambler, Sky Masterson; and straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana.

Sometimes you can tell a lot about a production even before you enter the theatre. For example, the Columbus Children’s Theatre placed a large fishbowl of Kleenex packets in the lobby for attendees of its musical, NEXT TO NORMAL.

Comedian Josh Johnson announced his upcoming performance at the Southern Theatre on February 1 as part of The Flowers Tour. Tickets will be available starting November 1 at 12pm.

Walk, Don't Ride! A Celebration of the Fight for Equality chronicles in words and song the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s. Performances run October 26 at 7pm and October 27 at 2pm at Olentangy Orange High School.
