Just under its year anniversary, The Nest Theatre has announced the official launch of its downtown Columbus space in Franklinton!

After humble but glorious beginnings at the Nest's packed home at Cherry Street, makeshift punk-rock pop-up theatre at Lynn Street, and a months-long buildout in this new home - the Nest finally gets to share our fun, perfect space at 894 W. Broad with you, in all it's glory.

The Nest improv, sketch, and comedy community are thriving - and this Saturday night they get to share a sampler platter of joy with you! $15 gets you in to all these events.

THE EVENING:

7pm Lobby opens/Mainstage Doors open to our new theatre and fully stocked bar (beer, wine, and spirits)!

7:30pm ComedySportz Columbus

Competitive Improvisation for Everyone! This original show began in Milwaukee in 1984 and now has 26 chapters all over the world - Columbus is the newest! Our roster of players is over 20 deep, and each week we face off in the time honorEd Battle of red vs. blue! Love Whose Line? This is the original show from which all other short form comedy came: game based comedy, high-paced, interactive, and fun as all get out.

8:30-8:55pm Intermission and Mingler - grab food and drinks & check out the space!

9pm Storyteller & HERE, the (improvised) Musical

Two of our flagship shows, these crowd-pleasers double bill for the evening.

Storyteller - a group of people tell extemporaneous true monologues and use those stories to launch into comedic improvisation! Our longest house team continues on in our new space.

HERE, the (improvised) Musical: HERE is one of Chicago's most lauded shows presenting the original two-person improvised musical - now in CBus! Chicago Tribune Critic-Recommended and called "Nothing Short of Genius" by NPR, this famous show has been brought to 19 countries and over 50 cities worldwide. In HERE, Tara & Rance get one suggestion to create theme through an opening number, design characters and storylines inspired by that theme, and effortlessly weave the strings together to discover one piece. Funny, beautiful, and charming, HERE "has shown something new and amazing is possible in improvisation" and has been called groundbreaking by audiences around the globe.

10:30-midnight: Door prizes until 11 / Music on, bar open - Have a ball!
