The Hudson Players will hold auditions for the laugh-packed comedy-farce "Lie, Cheat & Genuflect" on September 13 & 14 at 7 p.m. at the Barlow Community Center at 41 S. Oviatt St in Hudson. All roles are available with interested crew and production team members also being sought. Auditions are open to all with no restrictions. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. "Lie, Cheat & Genuflect" kicks off the long running community theater troupe's 65th Anniversary Season. With performances being held November 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 & 21 the fast paced comedy by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore is sure to keep the audience laughing. When the Buckle brothers, Billy and Tom, spend all the money they have playing the horses they borrow money from a loan shark and now he wants his money-or else! When the brothers' rich grandfather passes away they devise a scheme to somehow get some money they know they won't inherit. Add a stuffy lawyer, a hard-drinking,man-hungry housekeeper and a trio of beautiful women and you have a laugh-packed farce of twists, turns and prat-falls. Fast paced, funny with plenty of mistaken identities and big laughs!
The show has parts available for (4) males and (4) females of various ages. Perusal scripts are available at the Hudson Library.
The Hudson Players are an all volunteer non-profit community theater organization and one of the longest running theater troupes in the area. Volunteers are always welcome to assist with a variety of tasks including publicity, poster distribution, set building, costumes and more.
