The Globe School at Actors' Theatre kicks off the spring with early class and workshop opportunities and returns this summer with acting camps for actors of all ages and levels.

Led by Education Director Andy Falter, The Globe School provides acting and learning opportunities for both kids and adults this spring. In "Acting for Kids," students will create and perform a short play, as well as experience improv, theatre games, miming and movement, and more. Class concludes with a performance for family and friends on April 16 at 2:30 pm. In "Acting for Adults," each week will focus on a different theme (improv, scene studies, character studies, movement, stage fighting, miming, staging and blocking, and more). Graduates of the class will perform through the summer on Sunday evenings as a teaching tool and performance opportunity for all. All classes will feature performance games and acting exercises designed to help actors of all levels. Starting June 12 and throughout the season, some or all of the class will present scenes, select monologues, improv games and class created scenes. Kids' classes are held at Schiller Recreation Center and are $80 per student. Adult classes are held at Schiller Park and are $150 per student.

SPRING CLASSES FOR KIDS & ADULTS:

  • March 3 - April 16 (noon - 2 pm): Acting for Kids
  • April 10 - June 26 (noon - 2 pm, performance times may vary): Acting for Adults

In our kids and teens summer camps, campers will create and perform a short play, as well as rehearse scripted scenes and monologues, and experience improv, theatre games, and more. Adult campers will experience a summer camp of their own with each night featuring a different theme like improv, scene study, and character study. All ages are invited to participate in our most popular camp - Improv. Campers will celebrate the end of summer with a week of all improv, all the time. Each camp will culminate with a public performance showcasing skills learned throughout the summer. ATC camps are held at Schiller Park and are $135 each (or reserve two for $250). CSG camps are held at Columbus School for Girls and are $200 for the week.

The Globe School at Actors' Theatre is led by Education Director Andy Falter. He has taught professional, amateur, and K-12 actors for over 17 years, including 15 years in Worthington City Schools. Andy has been seen on stages and screens across the country, from multiple performances at The White House to commercials and films, including award-winning short films 'Til Death, The Bloodline, and The New Mr. Phillips (Best Lead Male Actor).

The mission of The Globe School is to provide actors of all experience levels a safe place to grow and strengthen their performing skills. We also encourage participants to become involved in all aspects of ATC, including assisting students with auditioning for shows, volunteering behind the scenes, and finding opportunities with other organizations in the Columbus theatre community.
