This Fall, Shadowbox Live runs the gamut of entertainment from sketch comedy to musical tributes to meta-media. With three productions opening from late August to late September the metaperformers have their proverbial noses to the grindstone at the Brewery District theater, 503 S. Front Street.
First up is the latest sketch comedy and rock 'n' roll show: The Rocking Dead. Opening August 31, The Rocking Dead uses situational comedy to poke fun at zombies, monsters, and even politics! Sketches intermingled with live rock 'n' roll with a dark (but fun) vibe will have audiences howling for more!
Following on the heels of The Rocking Dead, Shadowbox Live takes the audience on a journey through the life and times of The Beatles with 33 songs ranging from their first hit in 1964 to their last in 1970. Described, as "captivating and enthralling", "wonderfully joyous", and "nostalgic fun," Bigger Than Jesus combines music, dance, and video tied together with narrative facts about the band and the pivotal era that saw their rise into rock and roll history.
Bigger Than Jesus, opens Sunday, September 3 with a FREE performance at the Columbus Commons and then runs only 3 Sundays thereafter at Shadowbox Live.
Last, but certainly not least, Shadowbox Live presents their most ambitious project to date: Circle of Blood: a story of vengence inspired by The New York Times best-selling graphic novel by David Mack, Kabuki, opening Friday, September 29.
Circle of Blood combines live action with video excerpts from the book and an original underscore from Shadowbox Live concept band Light. Audiences will see this graphic novel come to life in an action packed one-of-a-kind show.
Shadowbox Live is a one-stop-shop for original, ground-breaking arts and entertainment this Fall.
