Shadowbox Theater, in association with the Actors' Theatre, team up to present the original musical, BACK TO THE GARDEN at Schiller Park on August 1st at 7:00 PM. The Shadowbox cast will head down to the outdoor amphitheater for a one-night only show that will serve as a fundraiser for Actors' Theatre.

"We want this to be a very organic production," said BACK TO THE GARDEN Director and performer, Stev Guyer. The troupe plans on using this outdoor arena to recreate as much of the circumstances of the original festival as possible, using very little artificial lighting or set.

With original scenes mixed with quotes from the key performers and songs from the concert itself, BACK TO THE GARDEN takes you back to the summer of 1969; a turbulent place and time where, for just a moment, half a million people came together in peace, for the love of music.

The cameo video roles played by local actors, celebrities, and Shadowbox patrons John DeSando, Bill Goldsmith, Jim Schulman, Cate Blair-Wilhelm, John S. Kuhn, Ginny Cipolla and Joy Reilley will be performed live.

The cast will be supplemented with Shadowbox ensemble members not already involved in the show. Members of the Shadowbox cast are encouraged also to bring along their family members and children to participate as part of the Woodstock crowd. Shadowbox has invited the student cast of Metro Rocks the ŒBox to participate as members of the chorus as well.

BACK TO THE GARDEN, a musical journey through the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Festival, will be performed at Schiller Park on Sunday, August 1, 2010, at 7:00 PM.  The show is being put on as a fundraiser for Actors' Theatre so, while admission is free, donations are highly encouraged. To that end, audience members can donate upon their arrival and departure from the show. Visit www.shadowboxcabaret.com or www.theactorstheatre.org for more information.
