Shadowbox Patrons Save the Day!

Shadowbox Live has what some have called a "rabid fan base;" patrons who see most shows, follow Shadowbox Live online, participate as volunteers and committee members, and know the metaperformers on a personal level. These patrons are critical to the ongoing success of Shadowbox Live.

So, when a series of unexpected equipment failures occurred last week, Stacie Boord, Director of Community Relations, jumped into action, calling upon them to assist in any way possible.

Boord explains, "Within 72 hours we lost two convection ovens and a drink cooler, the pizza oven temperature dial broke, a portion of our heater stopped working, our marquee boxes shorted, and our front doors wouldn't close!"

Shadowbox Live estimated the necessary repairs would cost around $4200.

Boord quickly devised a campaign to ask the die-hard patrons for their help, and within 48 hours personal contributions and hands-on assistance surpassed the goal.

In addition to patron support, long time Shadowbox Live vendor Coca-Cola generously donated the much needed drink cooler.

"We are so incredibly grateful for the generosity of our patrons," says Boord. "Their engagement in all that we do is truly the life-blood of our organization."
