Shadowbox Live Announces Fall Lunchbox: 'Lunatic Lunchbox'

Since June 1999 Shadowbox Live has been serving fun for lunch each Friday with its popular 45-minute matinee The Lunchbox.

Designed to be a training ground for less experienced ensemble members, The Lunchbox in recent months has not only served as practical experience for up-and-coming metaperformers, but for future directors and producers of the entertainment ensemble.

To that end, Shadowbox Live has structured the matinee just like a "mini-night show," says Julie Klein. Klein, Shadowbox Live's Marketing Director, has taken on the role of Lunchbox Chief Producer.

"Experience is the best teacher," continues Klein who heads a production team of directors, technicians, and fellow producers who are relatively new to developing sketches and songs without the aid of Shadowbox Live's Executive Producer Stev Guyer.

"We have a safety net in that all the sketches and songs in The Lunchbox are taken from our 20 year history. They've already been produced so we know they meet Shadowbox Live's high standards," explains Klein. "But we have to work as a production team to bring all the elements together into one cohesive, highly entertaining show."

The Lunchbox production team has committed to producing shows that follow themes similar to the night shows at Shadowbox Live. The first of these themed shows coincided with the return of the ensemble's ground-breaking musical, Back to the Garden. Titled Peace, Love and Shadowbox the show ran each Friday this past winter and spring.

Recognizing the power of this producers training tool, the team decided to run a light, fun theme during the summer months, and now they are pleased to unveil, Lunatic Lunchbox, opening September 17th.

Monsters mix with mystery and mayhem in the outrageous 45-minute romp that will deliver both tricks and treats.

"We're really excited about the new theme and anxious to test our ability as a production team," said Klein.
