Curtain Players announced its 2018-19 production line-up on Thursday April 12 at a special "big reveal" event at The Wine Bistro in Westerville. Six titles are on the marquee.

The new season - number 56 for the community theatre organization - is notable as the holiday offering, A Christmas Carol, is the company's 250th staged show since 1963.

Tickets for the community theatre's 2018-19 season will go on sale this summer. The exact sales date, along with available ticket packages and prices, is to be announced later this spring. All performances are staged at the Curtain Players Theatre, located at 5691 Harlem Road, Galena. Details about the season, including script info sessions, auditions, and show schedules will be posted on the www.curtainplayers.org website in coming weeks.

The 2018-2019 titles are:

On Golden Pond by Ernest Thompson An elderly couple enjoy their latest summer in a cottage on a Maine lake, as they come to terms with the husband's advancing age and his ongoing estrangement from his newly engaged daughter. Directed by Michael Fusco / September 7-23

Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring In this enduring comedy, a drama critic must deal with his eccentric family, including two sweet aunts who cheerfully poison elderly men with elderberry wine. Directed by Kate Tull / October 19-November 4

A Christmas Carol by Romulus Linney An adaptation of the Charles Dickens story of Ebenezer Scrooge's journey from an embittered, ungenerous creature into a giving, caring human being at the hands of three spirits, who, one Christmas Eve, show him what life means. Directed by Heather Schultz / November 30-December 16

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time based on the novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens Fifteen-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor's dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever. Directed by Sarah Merkey / February 8-24

Doubt, a parable by John Patrick Shanley A Catholic nun who serves as principal of a 1960s Bronx parochial school accuses a priest of molesting a student in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Directed by Scott Painter / March 22-April 7

Epic Proportions by Larry Coen and David Crane Set in the 1930s, this comedy tells of two brothers who go to the Arizona desert to be extras in the huge Hollywood Biblical epic. Before you know it, one is directing the movie, and the other is starring in it. To complicate matters further the brothers both fall in love with the same woman, not to mention the gladiator battles, the Ten Plagues and a cast of thousands. Directed by Jeremy Sony / May 3-19

Also announced: Curtain Players is developing a new works initiative that replaces its Simply Staged event of recent years. Led by Jeremy Sony, working with central Ohio playwrights Emily Turner, and Stefan Farrenkopf, their three new scripts will be written and workshopped at Curtain Players with staged readings of the new works presented January 10-12.
