First dates are stressful, especially when you keep score. Two roommates exploit a dating website to play a ludicrous game of dares and pranks on unsuspecting members of the opposite sex. The two possess the ability to manipulate time and reality, a power which they employ to debate the rules and comment on the flow of the pranks. As the rules of the game break down, so do the rules of a conventional romantic comedy. The madLab twist? On Fridays, the two roommates are Spencer and Erwin, while on Saturdays, it's Stephanie and Erma. You can see both versions on its preview night August 28. A coin flip will determine which version is presented first. The Playdaters features a crude hand puppet, waffles, and juvenile shenanigans.
