The metaperformers at Shadowbox Live are getting ready to launch two powerhouse productions: Guilty Pleasures and Rock of Ages, opening in March and April, respectively, at the Brewery District theater, 503 S. Front Street.
Guilty Pleasures will feature original sketch comedy and live rock 'n' roll centered on the theme of confessing our vices and revealing our secrets. "Everyone has a guilty pleasure," says Julie Klein, Executive Producer for Shadowbox Live, "so the theme will resonate with audiences when they recognize situations depicted through the sketches."
Rock of Ages, the Tony Award nominated Broadway musical celebrating the gritty and over the top world of '80s rock, features music by Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Twisted, Sister, Poison and more. Klein laughs, "Big hair, leather, spandex, rockers and groupies - icons of the '80s - make this musical a natural fit for us! And, audiences will enjoy the nostalgia of the show while chuckling at the tongue-in-cheek characters."
Guilty Pleasures opens Thursday, March 23 and runs Fridays and Saturdays through June 3. Rock of Ages opens Thursday, April 13 and runs Thursday, April 20 and then Sundays after that until August 27. Tickets range from $25 - $40 and student, senior, and military pricing is available. Visit www.shadowboxlive.org for more information and to make reservations.
