Columbus Children's Theatre Presents URINETOWN Image

Columbus Children's Theatre will present the Advanced Performance Academy production of Urinetown from August 1 - 12 at the Park Street Theatre located at 512 Park Street. Joseph Bates is the director and music director for this production and it will be performed by the Young Adult Ensemble (Ages 15-18) of the Advanced Performance Academy.

ABOUT THE SHOW
Save up your pennies for this hard, cold jumble of a journey to Urinetown, the place where the water has become so scarce that private toilets eventually became unthinkable! In this dystopian city, the government regulated toilets require a fee to pee, causing an uprising when a fee hike is demanded of the poor folks. CCT's Young Adult Ensemble (15-18) Advanced Performance Academy depicts this satirical comedy musical with a revolution against the malicious corporation that controls the water, a love story that breaks down barriers, and a plea for freedom to pee whenever they'd like. This three-time Tony Award winning show will have you laughing until you gotta go!

As CCT's the second year Advanced Performance Academy, we offer a full summer season of shows. APA is Columbus Children's Theatre's premiere intensive training program for students ages 8 to 18. Urinetown is performed by the Young Adult Ensemble of the Advanced Performance Academy, students ages 15-18. These students will have spent weeks putting this show together before the two week run. The weeks spent at the academy provide students with an opportunity to combine their preexisting knowledge of theatre with new knowledge provided to them by a team of theatre specialists to produce a professional level show.

CCT thanks season sponsors Greater Columbus Arts Council, The Columbus Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, The National Endowment for the Arts, American Electric Power, The Shubert Foundation and Nationwide.

All Tickets are $18. Group rates are available. Please contact the Ticket Office for more at 614.224.6672 or www.ColumbusChildrensTheatre.org.
