The world premier limited run of the new J.T. McDaniel dark comedy COMING OUT at The Abbey Theater of Dublin will conclude with performances at 8:00 PM on Friday, October 18, and at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 19.
The two act comedy-drama explores the the dynamics of a central Ohio family confronted by multiple crises on a single afternoon in the autumn of 2012. Touching on themes of gay marriage, alcoholism, domestic abuse, infidelity, religious fanaticism, and family disfunction, COMING OUT uses humor to examine a serious subject.COMING OUT features author McDaniel and Brenda Newsom as college professors Bob and Susan Anderson, celebrating 40 years of marriage with a family gathering. Also featured are Jim LeVally as their homophobic televangelist elder son, Martha Kathryn Smith as his much younger, abused wife, Jai Furlong as coming out gay younger son George, Will 'TuTail' Smith as his partner, Ashley Collins as daughter Ellen, Chris Wharton as her husband, and Grace Rinehart as Bob's pregnant secretary, Carol.Videos
