This summer, Columbus Children's Theatre (CCT) is hosting its second annual College Preparatory Program. Today, August 7, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. the College Prep students will present their final showcase at CCT's Park Street Theatre, 512 Park St. Columbus, OH 43215. This performance will be a selection of songs, scenes, and monologues from various styles and eras of theatre and is free to attend. Directed by Wright State Associate Professor of Acting and Musical Theatre, Greg Hellems, the showcase will be the culmination of four weeks of hard work by the students in this program.
"I am excited about giving students in Central Ohio a chance for advanced education in acting, specifically geared toward college preparation. This is an opportunity that no other organization in the area is offering", said CCT's Education Director Ryan Scarlata.
About The College Preparatory Program
The students in this audition-based program train intensely with faculty members from acclaimed acting, musical theatre, and dance programs to help discover more deeply who they are as artists. The program strives to help students develop this deeper understanding so that they might apply it towards preparing for college auditions at top theatre schools. Students are pushed to their limits as they explore characters in monologues and songs in preparation for these auditions.
