Columbus Ohio's CATCO will present playwright Carter W. Lewis' play EVIE'S WALTZ from February 17 thru March 7, 2010 at the Riffe Center Studio Two Theatre.
EVIE'S WALTZ tells the story of Clay and Gloria who are preparing a family barbecue. Their plans for the evening are disrupted by the unexpected arrival of their son's girlfriend, Evie. Evie has blood on her neck. They learn that their son, Danny is missing. Then the parents discover that Danny and Evie have been suspended for bringing a gun to school. As twilight moves to night, the simmering tensions between parents and teens boil over in this gripping and provocative thriller.In 1989 CATCO produced the world premiere of Carter W. Lewis's THE WOMEN OF MY FATHER'S HOUSE and his work has also been featured in CATCO's Shorts Festival 2000. Currently Playwright-in Residence and Lecturer at Washington University, St. Louis, he is an Otterbein College graduate and the College has produced many of his plays. Lewis has received several national playwrighting awards and his works have been produced and commissioned by theatres across the United States. He is a two-time nominee for the American Theatre Critics Award.
