A Columbus tradition for more than 30 years, the timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his search for the true spirit of Christmas comes to Columbus' Palace Theatre on Thanksgiving weekend. Performances of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol are Friday, November 27, at 7:30 pm; Saturday, November 28, at 2 pm and 7:30 pm; and Sunday, November 29, at 2 pm and 7:30 pm.

The Nebraska Theatre Caravan production of A Christmas Carol captures every detail of the classic holiday tale, from the spine-chilling ghosts to the renditions of traditional British carols. Crotchety Scrooge, lovable Tiny Tim, and all the fascinating characters that audiences have come to love make it a treasured Columbus holiday event.

Performed by a spirited ensemble cast of actors and musicians, A Christmas Carol features almost two dozen traditional Christmas melodies including "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," "Good King Wenceslaus," "Away in a Manger," and "Here We Come A-Wassailing." The production artfully recreates both the poverty and luxury of 19th-century London as a backdrop to the fable of Ebenezer Scrooge, a lonely man who is given the rarest of gifts...the chance to change his life and find his heart.

Nebraska Theatre Caravan is the professional touring wing of the Omaha Community Playhouse, a unique partnership of a professional company and the nation's largest community theatre. The Caravan has three touring companies that perform each November and December throughout the Midwest, South, and East Coast, entertaining thousands of families across the country.
