The 2016 Grace InFused Theatre Festival will be held in downtown Columbus, Ohio, at the Columbus Performing Arts Center (549 Franklin Avenue) on Saturday, Aug. 6, starting at 4:30pm. The festival will feature new plays and performances from esteemed playwrights from across the country.
The festival will begin with a monologue performance by Howi Tiller, accomplished Nashville-based Christian writer and dramatist. Following Tiller will be a table read of "Prodigal Brothers," a play written by Chicago-based and Dramatists Guild member, Steve Peterson. The festival culminates at 7:00pm with another performance by Howi Tiller, followed by a full-production of "staiNed Glass," a new play written by Wisconsin-based and Dramatists Guild member, p.m. strain.
Participating plays will compete for the 1st place "JacK Gilbert Award," to be accompanied by a cash prize. Gilbert, a distinguished Christian writer and writing coach in Hollywood, was a long-time advocate of fusing mainstream arts and entertainment with the Gospel message.
There will also be 4 Columbus-area food trucks present to provide food for the festival; Mojo Tago, Red Plate Blue Plate, En Place, and Empanadas and More.
Attendees will have the opportunity to provide direct feedback to the playwrights following each performance. Doors will open for the festival at 4:00pm.
Tickets for the G.I.F.T. Festival are $25 each and include admission to all festival productions and a full meal from a participating food truck. Tickets can be purchased at www.giftfestival.org.
